Fundraising is an integral part of Low Country Veterans Group and accounting for major part of funds-raised. Some of our organization fundraisers are:
TD Bank “Bring the Change”- Each year TD Bank chooses qualifying local organizations to assist in raising funds by soliciting change from the bank’s customers. Low Country Veterans group participated and received $2,728.82. The funds were used to transport members of LCVG to doctor’s appointments through the LCVG assisted rides program.
The LCV “gofundme” website was established to help raise funds to be used for feeding and clothing Homeless Veterans. This amount was $1,540.00.
One of the LCVG’s internal fundraiser is the “Building Pledge”. This is a continuous pledge from members once a month and at their discretion in amounts also at their own discretion. Since we started this fundraiser in 2015 we have raised $1,945.00. These funds are used continuously for upkeep of the building.
“T-shirt Sales” is one of Low Country Veterans Group’s yearly fundraisers during our yearly anniversary events. Each year we sell shirts with the group’s information and years of existence. We have raised $4,000.00 since we started this fundraiser. The funds are used for LCVG disaster relief for the community and community events.
“Christmas Banquet Ticket Sales” This events we have had for past 3 years so far and raised a total of $620.00. We use these funds in Bereavements for our members
Secured over $26,200.000 in lifetime disability benefits for disabled veterans
Facilitated veterans in accessing services such as rides to doctors’ appointments through the Assisted Rides Program as well as through each other.
Aided Veterans in helping through Counseling Agencies and Doctors for PTSD treatments.
Working with AARP in Stand Downs providing help for homeless veteran’s personal needs such as haircuts, dental exams, doctor’s exams, clothing, sleeping bags, toiletry items, and much more.
Through Friendship Place we a van for needed transportation for members.
Working with the Hud –Vash and Georgetown Housing Authority we have placed 6 homeless veterans in homes and others being processed.
During the 2015 flooding of our community we aided Flood Victims. Distributing 20 sleeping bags and 80 inflated mattresses provided by AARP.
200 BBQ sandwiches provided by Organic Valley Relief Program.
Over 1,100 meals provided by Long Island NY Hurricane Sandy Victims
We provided 750 meals by Sheep Dog Relief Program.
Over 2,000 cases of water provided by different organizations.
Clothing, furniture, and other necessities provided by Georgetown Outreach Ministries, Inc.
Housing needs, health needs, and cleaning needs provided by Red Cross.
October 2016, with assistance from Red Cross we provided relief to over 1000 Hurricane Matthew Victims. We provided rakes, shovels, storage containers, trash bags, cleaning supplies and other necessities.
